Artist Statement: What holds me in drawing lines is not just the line but the spaces that are made between the lines. Lines create the possibility of space [silence] on the page, such energy between the blank space and the lines. And where lines meet and collide, the edges of things, creates another space, another conversation. Another delineation. I think of dreaming this way, how a dream creates a storyline, a narrative, around us and we move through it, exploring the spaces and the edges. Both in the narrative and in ourselves. The edges between waking and dreaming, between dreaming sleep and quiet sleep, between what we know and what we do not know, between what we believe and what is true. All of it woven. |
